Your journey to the mountains will begin from Patlikuhal. The HustleTurtle team will pick you from Patlikuhal anytime between 8 am to 10 am. On prior notice, an exception can be made for participants who happen to come post 10 am but before 12 noon. Once you freshen up, there will be an introductory and welcome session which will be followed by a team lunch, some rest and acclimatization walk, preferably before it gets dark. Upon return, we’ll have a technical session to discuss the precautions and preparations to be followed for the entire trek and about the next day’s schedule. This will be followed by a bonfire.
Bakar Thatch: The first day of this trek will be majorly on wheels. Crossing the various streams, we travel towards Dhundi via Manali witnessing Solang valley. Dhundi lies about 8 km North West, this is the last village in the Solang valley and this is where Beas River meets its first tributary converging from Beas Kund and Rohtang Pass and another alpine meadow full of wildflowers. On reaching Dhundi, we rest and then start the trek to Bakar Thatch (10,800 ft). A 6 km long trek towards the high-altitude meadow which is literally known as the ‘shepherd’s field’. Here, you will experience a breathtaking experience between the 360-degree view of the mighty Himalayas.
Today, we head towards Beas Kund, a short climb up the ridge passing Bhoj Patr having a variety of trees. Beas Kund is glacial tarn and the source of few of the major rivers of North India. Here, be prepared to see melted waters from the glacier flowing down from the mountains. By the evening, we will trek back to Bakar Thatch and stay there for the night as we bonfire and have some activities.
On the last day, we take the similar route and trek back to Dhundi and then to the base camp. On reaching the base camp, rest of the day can be utilized to either go for local sightseeing, you can choose to go for adventure sports or rest in base camp. A private drop to Patlikuhal will be provided, we can also assist you with the bus timings from Patlikuhal.
